Whether you’re navigating the loss of a loved one or seeking connection with others who understand, support groups can offer comfort, guidance, and a sense of community. Below, you’ll find a list of grief support groups in the areas we serve, including those that focus on general loss as well as those specifically for families who have lost a child or an adult. We hope these resources provide the support and understanding you need during this time.

Hospice of Dayton

  • Pathways of Hope is the grief support service provided by Hospice of Dayton and Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties to anyone who has lost a loved one. Professionally licensed counselors or social workers lead Pathways of Hope grief support groups. Pre-registration is required. There are groups for adults, teens, and children.

Crossroads Hospice

  • The Grief Recovery Method® Outreach Program teaches the correct action choices to help people “move beyond” the pain caused by loss. It is a twelve-week program that creates a safe environment in which to look at old beliefs about dealing with loss; to look at what other losses have affected your life; and to take new actions that lead to completion.

Dayton Children’s Mental Health Resource Connection

  • The Mental Health Resource Connection program is a service that connects patients and families to available mental health services in the community. The service is administered by social workers experienced in evaluating pediatric mental health needs and the services required to meet those needs. The Mental Health Resource Connection strives to improve the mental health status of children in Dayton Children’s service area.

Oak Tree Corner

  • This is a one-time, two-hour session that is required before attending any meeting. It provides a basic understanding of grief and loss.
